Introduction to Micronet Manufacturing (Roll Forming) System

MRF Overview

Micronet Roll Forming (MRF) has been developed by Micronet for continuous roll forming manufacturers and distributors, including those for steel roofing products, purlins, fascias, guttering and fencing products. MRF links to Micronet’s industry standard (and proven) Micronet Distribution System (MDS) and financial management/accounting modules to provide a total multi-user/multi-tasking integrated software solution.

MRF incorporates inventory management, sales order processing, manufacturing, accounting, security and reporting functions.

Inventory management

MRF provides inventory control of fixings, fasteners and accessories, as well as individual steel rolls, by date received and BHP coil number. It allows you to store special work instructions and product details for individual items.

MRF’s integrated purchase order entry module allows you to order by tonnes but display in lineal metres. MRF also calculates anticipated lineal metreage upon receipt of steel coils, manufacturing usage and waste. This information is used for individual coil yield analysis inquiries and reports.

Sales order processing

The Sales Order Processing system in MRF allows you to create and recall customer quotes as well as process orders. Orders can be processed in lineal metres with optional pricing in square metres. MRF stores individual customer pricing, discount levels, delivery instructions, sales tax and credit details, and allows you to take customer deposits and process payments at the point of order/sale.

You can use MRF to log customer committed delivery dates for customer orders and manufacturing scheduling.

MRF warns at production time if you are approaching the end of any coil at order entry time, and it comprises a comprehensive salesperson commissioning module.

Manufacturing

MRF assists in the manufacturing process by storing and tracking steel rolls by batch/serial number from receipt right through the manufacturing process. You can search for current production commitments by date, customer, order number, etc.

It provides the ability to allocate from coil stock or offcuts, and to track and create waste, seconds or excess manufactured products. You can also track operator performance against production, waste and offcuts accrued.

MRF provides optional kitting (Bill of Materials) for sales/assembly of kit homes, sheds, garages, fencing packs, etc.

Accounting

MRF has fully integrated Debtors and Creditors Ledgers, as well as an integrated multi-divisionalised open 24 month General Ledger. It has a subsystem for handling GST/BAS, a purchase order system, and optional import costing management.

Security

Comprehensive security is provided via user ID tables where you can limit the individual tasks a user can perform. MRF provides full audit tracking of critical operator tasks and security overrides. It also allows you to create custom menus that can be assigned to each operator or office group, i.e. Sales menus, Manufacturing menus, Inquiry menus, etc.

You can set credit limits for customers and put them on hold. In addition, each product group can have minimum acceptable sales margins before an order can proceed.

Reporting

The reporting system within MRF allows you to generate a variety of inquiries and reports at any time. When printing reports, the selection criteria can be entered for the report. Most inquiry screen layouts and reports can be user defined to print alternative information.

Although the Micronet Advantage Suite contains over 200 reports, it may be necessary for users to create a specific report. To achieve this, MRF comes complete with a built-in ad-hoc Report Generator which contains many features. This manual describes some of these features, thus allowing users to become familiar with how the Report Generator functions.
